Subject: Some words on World Championship justice - part II Date: Wed, 26 Aug 1998 01:50:32 PDT From: "Enrico Russo" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Hello again, Frank. It's me again. Gabriele sadly announced us that he was "suspended" from tournaments for 12 months, due to his ejection from World Championships. For some of the reader it may seem fair, for others it may seem unfair. It doesn't matter. Nor is important that the first tournament he could play will be on september 1999 !!!!! Maybe at that time TeStEx block will rotate out, and he will have no tournament experience of the next one. OK, maybe he could play just for fun until then, maybe he could train and return shiny and brightly on the world tournament ring. The only thing important is that he will always be "marked", just like an ex-jailman. Scene: big tournament Time: January 2000 It's the 4th (or 5th) round of swiss. Table n. 2. No judges nearby, none listening. Mr Evil Guy: "Gabriele, we meet again. Hmm, I heard you spent some time in "jail". How do you feel to breath fresh air again ???" (There are 200 people crammed inside a small building, sweating and smelling like animals). Gabriele Pisicchio: "It was hard. There were lots of people trying to convince me to quit and to sell them my Magic Suitcase.... Sad. But I kept on believing in my rebirth after the conviction. I will be on the top again." M E G: "Mmhh, I'm sorry for you, but maybe you have to concede this match to me. Or else I will scream that you tried to mark your cards" (and in saying so, he grab the top card of Gabriele's deck and marked the back with one of his nails) G P: "But you cannot do that !! The judges will eject me in a hurry, and the DCI will ban me from Mtg for the rest of my life !!" M E G: "So do you agree with me ?? Do you concede ??" G P, angrily: "OK, I concede, but you're a *@#§ç and a $£*%°" M E G, loudly laughing: "I know, I know, and that's why I'm a Pro and you'll remain a scrub. You were caught and I wasn't" G P: "But I was innocent !!!" M E G, laughing even louder: "Ah ah, it doesn't matter if you are innocent or not. The only thing that matters is that if I scream that you're a cheater everybody will believe me and you'll be banned for life. Ah ah ah" So now you know that, innocent or not, everybody could frame you if you have received warnings in the past. That's the current MTG justice. You could say it's fair. You could say it's unfair. It doesn't matter. The only thing that matters now is that Gabriele Pisicchio is out of play. And everybody could be forced to "retirement" exactly the same way. By mistake. Sad but true. Bye. - It's never over 'til it's over - Free Pisicchio ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
