Cathy, just one comment.

The PTQ's are usually up to 2 months prior the Pro Tour they are for. What if 
there is an expansion to come out (like now with PT Rome and Urza's Saga) just 
before the Pro Tour? The Expansion will not be tournament legal for at least 
2 weeks.  Should that mean that the time for all the PTQ's will be something 
like 1-3 weeks?

Even besides this, I don't think it's a good idea for PT's and PTQ's to share 
formats.
