You're right.. he's a completely different brand of jackass. Mike Long can be a nice guy.. but only when he doesn't have a deck of cards in his hands or any of his buddies around. I agree that there's been a bit of witch-hunting with him as the target -- but it's not as if he hasn't done *anything*.. he just hasn't done anything THIS TIME.. which is ironic, as this is the time he gets blasted. : OK now with the real stuff. Mike Long is NOT stupid. Absolutely.. Mike is amongst the smartest people around. : He was undefeated in the first 11 rounds out of 12. : Cheating in the 12th round after having an already perfect : record would be senseless. Senseless, yes.. completely out of the question? Well.... apparently not. : He doesnt have an altercation at every tourney he goes to. : If you people were to listen to his side of the story about anything : you would understand where im coming from. Yes, and if I were to listen to, and believe, his side about everything, I'd be referring to him as St. Mike. Of course, I do listen.. but I've got to take everything with a grain of salt, y'know? ... and he really DOES have an altercation at every tourney he goes to. He certainly has at the past 3 I've been to. : So far ive seen one side of the story reported. : I was at nationals. I heard first hand his side of the story. : It could have been an honest mistake just as easily as cheating. Agreed.. it could've been an honest mistake.. but as it's Mike, everyone is taking a closer look.. Once again, Mike's rep is causing him even more harm.. and harm to his teammates as well, judging by what they have to say. :POINT 2 :It has no effect on you. There have been many incedints larger :than this that had no effect on the game. Dont worry about it. Yeah, these posts are gonna have such a HUGE effect on the game.. WotC is really listening, and thinking "gosh, I think we should do something about possibly unintentional cheating" :If you werent even at nationals than you have absolutely no :business talking bad about the man. I assume no responsibility for the actions of others, but 1) I *was* at Origins. 2) I'm be naturally resentful of others telling me what to do. 3) I care, because he's from my 'region', and I'd like to know what's going on. 4) even if he WASN'T, I'd like to see what the DCI *isn't* doing to 'cheaters'. :Every pro tour player has been accused of something. :Long is not the only player to be accused of cheating. Not the point -- and besides -- Mike seems to get accused more than most. Why is that? :POINT3 :If i had the opportunity to win $18 k in two days bycheating :i would. Thats an aweful lot of money. I dont cheat . So, your morals can be twisted for $18k.. What's it like to have a dollar value on your ideals? :But if i could get on the tour and win countlessthousands by doing it i would :Most of you proably would too. Most. Not all. :there are 5 articles worth reading so far. :Hammers Hackers Slaughters Gallitzs Schneiders :all the others just repeat each other and run on and on about nothing. Like yours, like mine. :Dont waste our reading time by writing stupid flame articles. I've got time. Chris Yates, Some Random Chumly who was There
