Subject: Exodus Futures Market. Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 05:47:14 CDT From: "Scott Little" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Review from Cornland This is not only reviews of play value, but what I see as the 5 month projected sale value. If it's not listed, expect it to be from 3-4 dollars for rares, and .50 for uncommons… We can house the world with paperboard from commons… If it is not listed, It is pure trash. As far as why to listen, well, Ive made a lot of money on cards, and have been contracted to sell collections for stores, and has worked as a contract purchacing agent for more than one international card dealer company (not naming names...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coat of Arms Artifact {5} EX-R Each creature gets +1/+1 for each other creature in play of the same creature type Only see use in fun decks $ value in 5 months:$4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Memory Crystal Artifact {3} EX-R All buyback costs are reduced by {2}. Will initialy see a good amount of testing with, but in the end will be discarded because it helps your opponent. $ value in 5 months:$4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Null Brooch Artifact {4} EX-R {2},{T},Discard your hand: Counter target noncreature spell. Play this ability as an interrupt. Will see use. Not bad at all. Useable in any deck not ment to kill on turn 4-5 I see good interactions with scroll rack, the oaths (blue one the most), the blue keeper, and many others. $ value in 5 months: $6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carnophage Summon Zombie {B} EX-C 2/2; During your upkeep, pay 1 life or tap Carnophage. A+, 5 Star card. Best black (B) creature ever. Will never see in the 10 for .10 commons bin. $ value in 5 months: .50$ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pit Spawn Summon Beast {4BBB} EX-R 6/4; First Strike; During your upkeep, pay {BB} or sacrifice Pit Spawn. If Pit Spawn damages any creature, remove that creature from the game. To little kids this can be traded/sold to for lots. Realatively weak otherwise. $ value in 5 months: $6-10 on the basis that stores realise that little kids like big black stuff…otherwise, $4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plaguebearer Summon Zombie {1B} EX-R 1/1; {XXB}: Destroy target nonblack creature with total casting cost equal to X. Too good at face value. Will see use in bad tourny decks. $ value in 5 months: 5$ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recurring Nightmare Enchantment {2B} EX-R Sacrifice a creature, Return Recurring Nightmare to owner's hand: Put target creature card from your graveyard into play. Play this ability as a sorcery. This rocks…It will see use in mediocre tourny decks, or as part of a combo. $ value in 5 months: $5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Volrath's Dungeon Enchantment {2BB} EX-R Any player may pay 5 life during his or her turn to destroy Volrath's Dungeon. Choose and discard a card: Target player chooses a card in his or her hand and puts that card on top of his or her library. Play this ability as a sorcery. Grab these now everyone, because this will be big on the tourny sceen. $ value in 5 months: $8-$12 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dominating Licid Summon Licid {1UU} EX-R 1/1; {1UU},{T}: Dominating Licid loses this ability and becomes a creature enchantment that reads "Gain control of enchanted creature" instead of any other type of permanent. Move Dominating Licid onto target creature. You may pay {U} to end this effect. Best Licid ever. Period. Stops 2 creatures in combat, and probably kills one assuming you take in response to the attack phase being declared. Not used in tourny decks but in leagues and fun decks, it will be big. $ value in 5 months: $5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ephemeron Summon Illusion {4UU} EX-R 4/4; Flying; Choose and discard a card: Return Ephemeron to owner's hand. Will see use, but don't try to get them, give it a bit. $ value in 5 months: $4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equilibrium Enchantment {1UU} EX-R Whenever you succesfully cast a creature spell, you may pay {1} to return target creature to owner's hand. SERVICE! This rules as it is the 187 card from Hell! Merfolk just got a shot in the arm. $ value in 5 months: $7 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mind Over Matter Enchantment {2UUUU} EX-R Choose and discard a card: Tap or untap target artifact, creature, or land. Nope, somebody WILL abuse this sucker. Good interaction with Cursed Scroll, Oath of Scholars, and others. $ Value in 5 months: $3.50 - 4.50 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oath of Scholars Enchantment {3U} EX-R During each player's upkeep, if that player has fewer cards in hand than target opponent, the player may discard his or her hand and draw three cards. With the mass discard effects, this can work. $ value in 5 months: $6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirri, Cat Warrior Summon Legend {1GG} EX-R 2/2; Mirri, Cat Warrior counts as a Cat Warrior; First Strike; Forestwalk; Attacking does not cause Mirri to tap. Sealed: **** Constructed: **** SERVICE! #3 on the best green creature of all time list. $ value in 5 months: $5-$6 (more if not ledgend) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skyshroud War Beast Summon Beast {1G} EX-R */*; Trample; Skyshroud Beast has power and toughness each equal to the number of nonbasic lands target opponent controls. Him Baddass. Stompy love 2 in sideboard. $ value in 5 months: $4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pandemonium Enchantment {3R} EX-R Whenever any creature comes into play, that creature's controller may choose to have it deal damage equal to its power to target creature or player. #3 red enchantment of all time. Heavy creature base + any red mana support = 2 in sideboard at liest. $ value in 5 months: $6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ravenous Baboons Summon Apes {3R} EX-R 2/2; When Ravenous Baboons comes into play, destroy target nonbasic land. Would see more use if not rare. People will not go for it at mana cost. $ value in 5 months: $5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seismic Assault Enchantment {RRR} EX-R Choose and discard a land card: Seismic Assault deals 2 damage to target creature or player. #1 red enchantment of all time. A personal Lands Edge. 2 in every sligh. Will lead to a whole new kind of sligh. Thank GOD it is not splashable! $ value in 5 months: $10 - $12 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cataclysm Sorcery {2WW} EX-R Each player chooses from the permaments he or she controls an artifact, a creature, an enchantment and a land and sacrifices the rest. This might suck, but great to set up specific combos. Needs more looking at. $ value in 5 months: $5-$7 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Convalescence Enchantment {1W} EX-R During your upkeep, if you have 10 or less life, gain 1 life. Will not see tourny use. Blah rare. $ value in 5 months: $4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Limited Resources Enchantment {W} EX-R When Limited Resources comes into play, each player chooses five lands he or she controls and sacrifices the rest. As long as there are ten or more lands in play, players cannot play lands. Do not underestimate. This can lead to a land lockup in a properly built deck. This will create a new brand of land distruction deck. $ value in 5 months: $6.50$ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oath of Lieges Enchantment {1W} EX-R During each players upkeep, if that player controls fewer lands than target opponent, the player may search his or her library for a basic land card and put that land into play. The player shuffles his or her library afterwards. This is just fine. Best fix of a old broken card ever. $ value in 5 months: $8 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paladin en-Vec Summon Knight {1WW} EX-R 2/2; First Strike; Protection from Black; Protection from Red My first reaction is 'You have to be %$&**#& Kidding me!' heck, At 2WW it stll gets played with. Why not make it 2/3 so it's scroll proof as well! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wall of Nets Summon Wall {1WW} EX-R 0/7; At the end of combat, remove from the game all creatures blocked by Wall of Nets. If Wall of Nets leaves play, return to play under their owner's control all creatures removed from the game with Wall of Nets. This sticks it in and twists against stompy, sligh and so many other creature based decks. $ value in 5 months: $5 - $6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best Sleeper Rare to pick up for sale later: Null Brooch (Will hit $12-$15) Highest Predicted Initial Price: Paladin en-Vec ($22.50 high in Scrye, I'm starting a pool!) Best bets for market speculation: Cataclysm, Equilibrium, Limited Resources REALY RISKY Bets for market speculation: Mind Over Matter All Prices are in american dollars, and are the anticipated Medium Scrye Price in the December 1998 Scrye. This is not a offer to buy or sell any magic card at any price by any one. Scott Little Slittle@hotmail.com Thanks to Elliot Fertik, as I used your edit of the card list to make this with, although we disagree on card utility in places… :) ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
