Subject: Don't stop posting decklists............... Date: Mon, 29 Jun 1998 01:50:12 EDT From: Deemars1@aol.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com This is to everyone who is like me, I know Dorian Anders, not too well but well enough to know that she knows the game a whole hellluva lot more than me. She is a great judge and I love to play in the tournies that she runs. But I disagree with her whole heartedly.... I am at the most an average magic player. i know most of the rules and I know what you need to do to win. But I have one problem I don't have the time to think up all of these great decks or combos , let alone the brain power to be a great deck builder. I just know that I love the game and I love the tournament environment, but basically I am a scrub and an average one now that I think about it. How does me being a scrub relate to the dojo you ask? Its simple, I need the deck ideas and deck postings to keep up. I love to check out new deck ideas or see what is winning tournaments. I have never copied a deck card for card but I like to make a deck using the basic structure of a deck and then add my own changes or combos. Just because i use a basic idea of a deck dosn't mean that I am going to bring on the downfall of magic. What I am saying is I need the dojo to keep up, how can you know what is hot or going on if I don't play once a week or if I only play in one tournament a month. Sure I know I can design my own deck and take it to a tourney(and I have) and do okay: but what's wrong with taking a differnet version of a "Dojo Deck" and doing well with it too. Just because someone is playing a copied deck doesn't mean they are going to win the tournament, you still have to play well to win. So what I am saying is keep posting the decks . Some of us that cannot play magic 24-7 or some of us mental midgets that love the game need those decks, not everyone is a magic genius! I know that i am not for sure! Thanx for reading my babbling, Dave Marsh.........deemars1@aol.com p.s.- Dorian you still rule!
