Subject: Reply to stop printing decklists. Date: Fri, 26 Jun 1998 23:20:06 PDT From: "Jared Pinkos" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com I would greatly appreciate it, if this could be posted on the Dojo bulletin board debate thing for the "Don't print the deck list" debate, cuz i can't find wherelse to post it. thanks alot. Seriously, shut the fo' up. Who cares if some little scrub player copies a deck and plays it against you in a tournament. Half the time unless its a sligh or something like that deck with little skill needed to remain competitive, the deck takes some sort of skill that if a "scrub" builds it and uses it, it will 90% of the time just blow up in his face any ways.) And if he IS using a sligh deck or something that is copied word for word from the dojo thus furthering this so-called "dojo effect", and you get mad at it, seriously SHUT THE HELL UP, I wouldn't be suprised to see in your mighty collection of fifteen billion decks that you make, cuz you have nothing better to do with your life or money, a red sligh deck that "mysteriously" is reminiscent of the dojo sligh decks, whether you like it or not, for the sheer fact that there isn't to much variety in a sligh deck. So in conclusion, quit your whining. Who cares if someone wants to copy a deck from the dojo. If he has no skill to make a deck on his own (and even if he does, there are only so many competitive deck types, once again look back at you billion decks and see how many tourney worthy decks there are in there that HAVEN'T been used by someone else) then he more than likely, with exceptions there are always exceptions to the norm, will not be abled to be skilled enough to play it. Plus i like the decks on there, because it helps me determine what kind of cards are being used in these type of decks, so that when i make my variation of the tournament deck (which i readily admit is probably going to be a sligh variation but without scrolls, cuz i have better things to do than spend 20$ on a card that won't win me enough games or I could wish tournaments to make back some sort of "profit" on the twenty bucks i spent for the stupid thing. Same goes for Tradewinds plus i don't have the trade stock, because i don't spend the money, to get them and even if i could, it isn't worth the stuff i would have to give up), I get a feeling on what generally works and what generally doesn't. And i also get to see what all you's people (yeah you, the one who even though bitches that people copy the same deck from the dojo are more than likely using on a slightly different variation of one of the dojo decks therefore becoming part of the dojo effect rather than fighting it) are playing. Just have fun, and chill inside, it's a motherfudging game. Playing the game is only a business for the select few, who can actually win the 25,000 Pro Tour. And i'm assuming the 99.99999% of you who play this, like me, can't even get to the same realm as those who do win. So spend your money sparingly on this, and use this game as a thing to do on a rainy night or at a once or maybe pushing it twice a week tournament, not as a life. Do something better, like attempt to function within society, something that most of these players as i have seen can't do, therefore killing this game and it's reputation. Now that is something to debate, not this garbage about decks. word, peace and chill. > Oh yeah, if you actually do read this whole thing (which i very much appreciate and respect considering i don't even have the stamina to read through this again to check for grammar and spelling which i'm positive there is very very much of) and still disagree with me please e-mail me, though you will be wrong, i'd like to hear your argument. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
