Subject: (Misc) people who play for fun Date: Mon, 15 Jun 1998 21:54:06 -0400 From: "cheryl" To: In response to Cathy's recent posting and the series of articles about scrubs that was posted about two weeks ago, I think a real scrub should tell everyone his opinions. I am a scrub . I started playing magic when Portal came out and it has been a struggle ever since.I own very few cards worth more than 10$. I only have one tradewind rider and that is my most valuable card. I play a simple white weenie deck with a little blue splashed in for my tw rider. I play magic for fun in tournaments at a small local store once or twice a month. like playing against other casual decks that I have a *chance* of beating. For me, lt's just fun to watch my deck work while i think of how to defeat the person across from me. We scrubs also strongly dislike cheese. I remeber my first tournament opponent played an all blue capsize-lock deck and killed me with an air elemental by turn seven. The second played an annoying burn deck that killed me by turn four with fire blasts, shocks, and kindles. Not all of we scrubby people are stupid and stategy-impaired, we just can't afford five boxes of each new set. Thank you for listening. -Ryan Hughes
