Subject: Posting deck lists Date: Thu, 25 Jun 1998 09:56:21 PDT From: "Mark Smith" To: danders5@ix.netcom.com CC: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Information wants to be free. The Dojo is not the only site on the net that posts decklists. The Dojo is the most popular Magic strategy site because of the excellent job Frank does in organizing and posting emails. If the Dojo no longer printed any deck listings, people would go to other sites and find them. Before long, another site would have the popularity of the Dojo and people would forget the old "Dojo Effect" for the new "website Effect". If you want creativity, get creative. The Dojo doesn't STOP anything, it merely raises the level of competition. You no longer get to face terribly built decks because people know how to find decent ones. Keep building rogue decks, or keep copying and bitching about how unfair it is. Take responsibility for your play. Thank Frank for good competition, because without the Dojo, many players would never advance. I want a game of competition, if I wanted to crush the opponent every time, I would play the computer version. (The AI for DotP defines scrub, it always does goofy combos that hardly ever work and it never learns from its mistakes.) --Mark ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
