Subject: long: illegal deck? Date: Wed, 15 Jul 1998 12:54:09 -0700 From: Adam Vieyra To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com i dont understand why long was not dqed for playing with a 60 card deck during the 12th round at nationals. i hear about people being dqed because a card from their deck falls on the floor during shuffliny, or they mess up sideboarding or something, why didnt this happen to long? a 60 card deck with a cadaverous bloom on his chair, be it an accident or deliberate cheating, gives him only a 59 card deck...which is jest as bad as a 40 card deck, or 7 card deck. others get dqed for that, why not mike long? giving him a match loss at that time is like giving someone in jail for 100 years another ten years for killing someone. give him the chair! or solitarty or something! at nationals the rumor was that the judges somehow got the idea that long was playing with a 61 card deck from the start, but how do judges miscount a deck at an important time like that...if it determines the fate of the top 9...DOUBLE CHECK!!! i definately think there was some weird crap going at nationals. and the dci owes everyone an explaination.
