Subject: [ISSUE] Anti cheating system Date: Tue, 14 Jul 1998 14:08:34 MET From: "WAGTER M" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Since the DCI doesn't seem to have an idea to stop the cheating, I'll give them one. The main question is, which should be our goals in making new rules to prevent cheating. 1: Make sure players like Mike Long and Justin Schneider can't cheat as frequently and openly as they do right now. 2: Don't frighten unexperienced players by having them disqualified for mistakes. The best way to reach these goals is to have a system in which the players under nr 1 are punished and the players under nr 2 are not. The system: * Make a player professionality rating from 1 to 5 (related to DCI ranking) beginner =1, PT player is 5. * Make a penalty point system rating from 1 to 5. Not taking undiscovered back =1, Card on your lap/Mana weaving=5 * Whenever a player gets a penalty, Multiply the penalty rating with the professionality rating. These total penalty points are collected by each player through the year. *Whenever a player gets 50 points, expell him for the rest of the year. I wonder how many points Mike got this year? Beginners can make a lot of little mistakes. It should work. Michiel Wagter "Now there's a frood who knows where his towel is"
