I am writing this after recieving a few email over the last couple of
days concerning my article "The "Long" Incident". Most of these emails
were from people who not only disagreed with me but were disgusted with
me ( I expected nothing less, and could care less). One of these emails
told me to seek help, and said that my post was the dumbest he had ever
read (citing Cathy Nicoloff, aperson who I both admire and respect for
her wrtings, as another person who writes "dumb" articles). Another from
a person whom I consider a friend of mine simply boiled down to "bull
shit" all though his way of saying it was much more elegant.

It honestly seems that these people have missed my point. No, I do not
consier Mike Long a super hero, and I no he doesn't give a damn what I
say. No, I don't condone his actions, and no, I didn't write that
article on my knees as on person suggested. But I do think that people
should stop calling for his banning when we all know it isn't going to
happen, and I do think that people who don't know him (if they don't)
should stop adding to the hysteria.

The point(s) of my post were as follows. 1.) to point out another reason
Mike Long does what he does, a reaosn people have overlooked 2.) to try
and find another way to solve the cheating problem and 3.) to voice my
opinion that it simply is not cool to constantly publicly thrash
somebody. If he knows he is never going to be forgiven anyway why should
he bother changing his ways.

So once again, agree or disagree I don't care. I just hope I cleared
some things up as I realize I could have been misunderstood at first
