Wow, Brian Hacker's article sure struck a chord with me...well, several
chords, to be exact.

First of all, I've been playing Magic since Revised, and I've participated
in a good number of sanctioned tournaments in my time.  Unfortunately, due
to the fact that I will be going to college in a couple months, and due to
the fact that I need to find a job, my tournament Magic career (if you
could ever call it that) is over.  I will miss playing in tournaments, but
I will not miss having to keep a watchful eye on *everything* my opponent
does to make sure I am not being cheated.

Let's face it, the cheating threads on tournament Magic are not going away,
they're only getting more frequent.  Why is that?  Is it due to lack of
punishments dealt out by the DCI?  Are players becoming more daring in
their attempts to cheat?  Are cheatrers getting away with what they do so
easily they decide to continue cheating, until eventually they are the
newest cheating topic in the Magic world?

I think all 3 are correct.

Even if I find large amounts of free time in my schedule (in my upcoming
college days,) I will not spend that time playing in sanctioned
tournaments.  The DCI has, in my mind at least, turned into one big joke.
I couldn't help but laugh when I heard about the recent "Long incident",
where a Cadaverous Bloom was found on Mr. Long's seat.  He wasn't
immediately ejected, huh?  Why am I not surprised?

I wonder why Mr. Hacker sent that article to the Dojo...is he being serious
about his plans to become a cheater?  Or does he simply want something to
be done?  Regardless of what his true intentions are, I don't forsee the
DCI doing anything about it...
