TOURNEY REPORT
ADAM HUGHES a.k.a. random scrub number 69

well.. as i woke up that morning, i knew i was pretty damn tired, and i faced
a pretty tough chioce..do i 1. get up early and play at sates that day? or 2.
sleep in another 30 or so hours. well luckily for me i pulled it together and
woke up. on the way up the street im driving about 70 or so in a 35
nieghborhood because its 9:35 and the tourney starts supposedly at 10:00. i
get there at 9:50 and the judge is starting to call for the last of the
decklists; i haven't even started mine. luckily for me though andon time and
real time are not the same, so i got everything filled out OK, and as i got to
pay, i realize i don't have any money- a problem. but again luckily for me i
pull out the trusty visa (they give them to anybody these days its insane!) -
problem solved. i am playing suicide black (along with about 40 other people
as ill later find out) here is the deck, made bye some guy who made the first
good suicide, i borrow most of the cards from my friend Randy "i ride my bike
to college " Wright because im too lazy to trade for them:

round 1: i play some guy playing another suicide black, but no hatreds; big
mistake, he's seems nice, but i beat him pretty good, i here second and third
turn hatred is some good...

round 2:i play another pretty cool guy, he's playing some sort of exhume,
zilla deck.. im not sure. he goes first turn swamp, and mind peels himself
putting verdant in his graveyard, but i went first and went double rit, horror
slayer scroll, with a swamp left in my hand. not too bad. so then he's goes
second turn exume, verdant. i some how pull in out my ass using cursed scroll
(undistputibly the best card in t2) to cuase massive beetdown.

round 3: another suicide! wow, it was pretty close, he got some good draws,
like the old rit sarco sarco carno. i barley win in 3 games. a good match up.

round 4: i play mark globus, not too bad a player! nice guy really. anyway
he's playing whale reacursion, and using the godly power of the mighty scroll
i kill off all his blockers and birds, wasteland take care of the land, and
shadow does the rest! god i love black!

round 5: yet another of my deck, the mighty suicide, i get my first land
screws and horrible draws of the day, he thoughrouly trounces me - you know
the old story...

round 6: i play against one of the 3 undefeated guys, and seeing how according
to the standings i have the best opponent match record of anyone, i offer him
a draw, because as it were he could draw the next two rounds and still make it
in easlily, the mother f*cker wants to play it out because he is spiteful ad
wants to make me lose! What an ass right??? well guess what he's
playing....... yup! suicide black, i win the toss and go first, i know ill
have to play really tight cause this is the kind of non friendly player you
hate playing against, well i win first game, lose to 12 land 2 critters second
game and win 3rd turn hatred the last game. oh, bye the way i cast shadow
critter with a city of traitors in play, and 4 cards in hand, so what does he
do, he casts black night instead of the dauthis slayer he had in hand!
needless to say he was pissed. hahaha go me! i love it when those types of
players lose!

final round 7: i checked, and i was ranked 4th,  and i still had the highest
opponents match record of anyone, i was to play the 6th place guy, but we
talked it over and we drew. his idea, i was happy with the knowledge that i
would almost for sure make top 8, and i did. he however, did not. i felt
terrible.

final 8: im ranked 7th, and first round i play mike "dandan is the most
amazing card in t2" florez.( im probably spelled his name wrong sorry mike!)
he is playing control black blue corpse dance bottle gnomes weirdness ill am
way too fast and hatred after he taps for the disk seals his fate. next game i
kill him quickly. afterwards he tells me all the mistakes i made, how bad my
deck is, what i sided in wrong, and various other things, i say good game, and
move to final 4.

final 4: well this is where it starts to get ugly...i play this really weird
guy named Larry kuczynski, he is playing this rouge druid deck with sneak
attack, oath and avatar...he also ran crater hellion and craw giant...so
anyway i win the toss and go 1st turn sarcomany. he goes land forest diamond
avatar. grr.... i proceed to not draw any of my 6 pro white, and die. not
good. second game. same as the first. planer void doesn't hurt much at all,
and he puts down the first turn oath again. damn Tommy topdecker. i seriously
think he would not have gotten better hands is he stacked them. i lose.. i
feel horrible, but then realize i gained a bizillion points from guys like
florez and globus. well thats what happened at states at Ohio, lots of academy
and suicide, a little sligh and a little bit of others.. i did not play one
academy deck! i wanted to try it sometime.. anyway  another note, Larry played
not one deck with blue in it all the way till he lost in the finals to a
friend of mine David wietz(name yes i know ... sorry) who was playing academy.
i am definitely biast, but he never should have gotten as far as he did. The
oath deck in my opinion was not terrific. but I guess it had to be OK, It beat
me :-(. Well, thats the story thanks for taking time to read it! see ya next
