This is a standard implementation of a "Prison" style deck, post-Mirage. The key cards are backed up by the Tutors, allowing Justin to situationally retrieve key cards. Marble and Sky Diamonds replace the Fellwar Stones, and blue counter ability is added to the main deck. The sideboard is quite interesting, with it's wide variety of theme enhancing cards against different deck styles.

Ed. Note - Here ends the short history of the WinterGeddon deck. Interest in the "Prison" style of deck has waned since October of `96. The first blow to the deck was the restriction of the Strip Mine, which was somewhat critical to mana deprivation and control. The second blow was the rotation of the Ice Age and Fallen Empires sets out of TII play, and the banning of the restricted list. Many key cards were lost to the "Prison", the key ones being the Icy Manipulator, Zuran Orb and Ivory Tower. Perhaps, if rumors are true, the "Prison" will experience a rebirth on June 1st, 1997, when the Ice Age set is made TII legal once again. Until then, Control players will have to fall back on the tried and true U/W counter heavy variants of this theme.
