The Dojo congratulates Marvin Paguirigan for winning the Andon T1 Championship using "Frenchie-Miner", Sep '97

Marvin is better known as a tournament orgainzer (Toronto GP) and the proprietor of the shop "Black Magic" in Hamilton, Ontario. Marvin's deck was orginally a somewhat typical U/R Mahamoti deck, until he played it at some T1 side tournies at PTLA this February, and had a can of whup-ass opened on him by the Gun/Zoo style decks. He modified his deck accordingly, and apparently decided it was easier to join them rather than fight them.

Marvin had these comments on the day and his deck:
"I was really happy that I didn't lose a match all day, and only tied one, to Rudy Edwards, to go 5-0-1 for the day. I had to play all the best players there, including Dennis Bentley, Rudy Edwards and Eric Taylor. For my deck, the Miners were the key. When I got pesky miners out early, it was usually lights out for my opponent."
