There's two ways to play Necro, straight weenie mob, or control, with hand destruction, board control, and creatures that can get around the Steel Golem's drawback. My favorite combo is with Corpse Dance and Bottle Gnomes. It sure does piss people off when your drawing everything in your deck, and they can't even play a single card in their hand. During playtesting, this deck did as follows... ... against Marogeddon, Necro won 3 lost 2. Massive LD kills Necro. If you can pull off a stupor, it usually helps. Dealing with the Maros is no trouble, but the Armaggedons wreak havoc, since this deck is manahungry. I shouldn't have to worry much, since Marogeddon isn't so popular anymore. ... against Big Blue, Necro won 2 lost 3. Stalking Stones won me three games in a row. You just can't counter it, and most of their bounce cards don't do crap. Hand destruction helped a lot. What kills is a Capsize land lock. It's very painful to see 2, then 3, and finally 4 lands dissappear every turn. ... against 4CB, Necro won 3 lost 2. Winter Orb was a bitch. The good thing was my creatures were better than his. Creature removal was the key to my wins, and Nev's Disk was my only answer to the Orb. I have one question, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT STUPID BEAR GROWILING AT AN ORB FOR? Here's how my deck looks 4 Necropotence 4 Stupor 2 Funeral Charm 2 Corpse Dance 4 Diabolic Edict 1 Dregs of Sorrow 3 Drain LIfe 2 Spinning Darkness 4 Bottle Gnomes 3 Steel Golem 3 Chimeric Sphere 1 Snake Basket 4 Nev's Disk 1 Stalking Stones 2 Quicksand 2 Wasteland ( I couldn't decide between Quicksand and Wasteland, so I made a compromise, and it works) 18 Swamps I didn't use Dark Ritual because I've been seeing a lot of reasons why people don't use it. It might be a good idea to work them in. Please do your own playtesting, and E-mail me your thoughts and suggestions on how to make it better ;-) Justin Haugen
