Subject: deck for submission Date: Fri, 13 Feb 1998 17:09:44 -0500 From: battage@banet.net To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com the other day i saw a deck that Tom Gibes created called missing link. i thought it looked fun and i love rogue decks so i decided to make my version of it. Black: 4 Kezzerdrix 4 Bellowing Fiend 1 Morifen 1 Gallowbraid 4 Diabolic Edict 2 Crypt Rats White: 4 Spirit Link 3 Flickering Ward 2 Disenchant 3 Wrath of God 2 Gerrard's Wisdom 3 Staunch Defenders 3 Revered Unicorns Mana Sources: 4 Dark Ritual 10 Swamp 10 Plains SB whatever mainly against what is good in your area, definately 4 bottle gnomes as you can see i made quite a few changes but didnt really mess up the core. the deck kinda works like 1 big combo, and believe it or not u can use it in a tourney and not do bad becuase it is so strong against sligh and other popular decks out there. some cards i am thinking of adding are auratog and pacifism. then it would really work like a big combo. here's a few words of advice from me. first of all the wards are very importent to the deck, probably the single most importent card in the deck. by putting the ward on a creature with another enchantment on it will really help u becuase then if they rely on one color to kill your creature they cant kill it, thus preventing u say from losing a creture and a few enchantments to there 1 card. also this deck can be played many ways. it can be used like a control deck that puts out phat critters' or if u draw early unicorns and rituals it plays like a speed deck. another thing debtable is the fact i only use 20 land and 4 rituals for mana even though this deck loses badly when mana screwed. the only reason i do this is becuase i never seem to get mana screwed that often, maybe just lucky or i shuffle good or something. also remeber my version is not better than tom's just diffent. they both are stronger decks that u think. i am gonna go to a tourney soon and i will write a report so u can see how the deck works. -Matt Battaglia -OphieNY -Ophidian1@Juno.com
