Subject: Deck to Beat Date: Sun, 18 Jan 1998 21:46:06 -0500 From: Robert Weir To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Frank, I don't know if you can put this on the decks to beat list for Jan., but if you can't, save it a spot for Feb! I've played this deck in three local tourneys, most of them 12-20 people, and won all three. It is of course, type 2. The Overruner by Allan Weir 17 forests 4 llanowar elves 4 quirion rangers 4 winter orbs 4 giant growths 4 overruns 4 rougue elephants 2 harvest wurms 4 whirling dervishes 4 river boas 3 elvish archers 4 pincher beetles 2 lhurgoyfs sideboard 3 emerald charms 2 tranquil groves 2 city of solitude 1 nature's resugence 2 blossoming wreath 1 roots of life 2 downdraft 2 scragnoth The stategy is simple: It plays like a normal stompy, until the opponent begins to catch up and defend himself. Then, it just overruns and kills in one massive attack. The sideboard is built to handle perish and creatures that fly.Its victories include: Sligh, Pox, Other Stompys, White Weenie, and Baby Blue. Also, could you please explain how the "casper" deck wins? i really don't get that one. Thanks, Allan Weir
