Subject: Re: 6E will Kill MTG Date: Wed, 2 Dec 1998 23:35:01 -0500 From: "Ron Vitale" To: I've read several of the posts on the Dojo concerning the changes in 6th Edition and I agree with many of the players: I'm concerned about the future of the game. I started playing Magic back from Unlimited and I've seen Poly and Mono artifacts go, new abilities come into the card stock, but these new proposed changes worry me. What I would like to point out to Mr. Adkison is that there are many Magic players across the world. We've supported the game and have made Wizards of the Coast a wealthy company. In the nature of customer satisfaction, I'd ask that he consider the wants and needs of the players. I'm frustrated and angry that we the players were not asked what we think would make the game better. How about a mail in survey attached to the Duelist? 5th Edition has been out for some time and would it not make sense to consult those who buy the product? Let me explain something to you: Since 5th Edition has come out, I have purchased only one starter deck and one booster. After I learned of all the great cards that were pulled from the set, I decided to spend money on other games and on only Magic expansion sets. I refuse to buy 5th Edition cards. >From what I have read so far concerning 6th Edition, I will continue to refuse to buy the basic set. And I ask other Magic players to do the same. And tell Wizards of opinion. Send your comments to Mr. Adkison (mavra@wizards.com) and tell him what you think. I think it's wonderful that we express our opinions on the Dojo but if we're serious about change, then we need to go directly to the top. I have spent a lot of money on this hobby and I would like to think that my opinion counts. What I would like is this: I want to know more about the upcoming changes for 6th Edition. How would counterspells work? For example, how would a power sink work? I also would like to know that we the players are being heard. We know what we want in the game and we know what we will buy. Please listen to what we have to say before these 6th Edition changes are put into effect.
